Biography

Wendy’s broad-based nursing experience is impressive—she’s managed it all, from long-term care (LTC), home health, rehab, surgery, floor nursing and retail, medical clinic. She completed her first bachelor’s in nutrition sciences prior to entering the medical field as a state-tested nursing assistant (STNA) at a LTC facility. While working in a physical rehab facility, she started her advanced nursing degrees. After working as a nurse for six years, she pursued her Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) degree to help make a bigger impact on patient health and wellbeing. Since working on a spinal cord unit, Wendy has always been interested in wounds and wound care and is expanding that interest in her FNP role, earning her Wound Care Certified (WCC) license, awarded by The National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy. In her free time, Wendy enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, gardening, traveling, cooking and quilting.
